Experience the 1800s at Chehaw’s Frontier Festival

It’s early 2019 and events are already lined up in Albany. First is the 2019 Frontier Festival at Chehaw Park.

Visitors can step into the past with the smell of campfires as they see the day-to-day lifestyle of the pioneers and mountain men from before the 1840s.

Participants can live the weekend as if from that era with activities like blacksmithing, weaving, cooking, moccasin making, hide tanning, and bow making.

This family-friendly event even features guided tomahawk throwing competitions and black powder gun shooting demonstrations.

Chehaw Park says participants and campers come from all over the country to spend the weekend living life how it was lived from the early 1700s through roughly 1840.

The Frontier Festival at Chehaw Park takes place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, January 11, 12, and 13.
