The holidays are all about giving and treating others with love and kindness. Well the holidays are over! January is the time to treat YOURSELF! We all have our personal likes and dislikes when it comes to ice cream. My son loves chocolate with chocolate sprinkles and hot fudge. I’m more of a french vanilla kind of guy. For those that love a burst of flavor, Blue Bell Ice Cream is a great way to satisfy that craving. Today I tried three different flavors, Tin Roof, Cherry Vanilla, and Mardi Gras King Cake. All three flavors bring something and different to the pallet. For the record their Blackberry Cobbler that has limited availability is phenomenal and my personal favorite. When that flavor is available…get it!
Cherry Vanilla is a blend of Maraschino cherries delightfully mixed into vanilla Ice Cream. I’m not a huge fan of cherries so I approached this with doubt. Boy was I wrong and this ice cream delivered on flavor. I could definitely eat this regularly by itself but imagine it would be even better with a slice of mom’s pound cake. You cannot go wrong treating yourself with this Blue Bell year-round flavor.
Tin Roof will definitely be a favorite in South GA. Vanilla ice cream with chocolate fudge and dark chocolate dipped, roasted peanuts. Don’t think butter pecan because this is the exact opposite. This is a flavor that I could see hanging around to be in the main lineup for Blue Bell.
Mardi Gras King Cake
Mardi Gras King Cake…wow. I saved the best for last. If Angels made ice cream, this is what it would taste like. Pastry pieces, cream cheese with candy sprinkles, and a taste of cinnamon. New for 2019 and only available for a limited time.
